David E. Smith

bio

David has played in the Branson and Springfield area for 20 years. A writer of three piano instrumental albums that have been used by Counselors and Psychologist in stress release clinics to calm patients and to help children with hyperactive disorders.

David is currently in his 16th year performing with Roy Clark touring the United States and Canada, playing keyboards and banjo. When not on the road with Roy, David plays in other bands such as Justin David and Cruize Control.

Last year he spent 4 weeks in Uganda Africa working for a children's organization called Watoto, learning their culture, playing music in bands and mixing an album called Mambo Sawa.

He also works in his studio recording music for other artist along with his own projects. His latest work is an all original bluegrass album called "On Down The Road". Check out the songs, video clips and the photos.

1992 Americana TV Network. Writing music bumpers, music beds for TV shows and commercials.

1993 Carmen's TV show Time 2. Writing music beds for each show along with specific music for the skits. 12 videos were produced.

1993 Wrote the opening theme song for Baldknobber's Music Show. The song was used for many years in the Show, sold on CDs, Video's and TV commercials.

1993 Jim Stafford's Theater. Piano and banjo player for Doug Gabriel's Morning show.

1994-1995 Roy Clarks Theater. Piano and banjo player for the morning show.

1995- 2009 Roy Clark. Keyboard and banjo player for Roy Clark

1995- 2011 Many appearances with Roy Clark on the Grand Ole Opry through the years.

2004-2007 Four Canadian tours covering all Provinces.

2004-2009 Justin David's Band in Nashville; Piano and banjo player.

2006 Recorded and Co-produced: The Light Within, a children's CD by Skip Lotten. An original song of mine on the CD is Sydney's Song.

2007 Africa. For Watoto I wrote and recorded a gospel CD and made 2 trips to Africa. The first trip I played in Uganda 2 1/2 weeks with Watoto bands. Came home for a month and went back to Kampala for 2 weeks to work in their studio mixing an album for mastering called: Mambo Sawa which means "life is good". 2007 Recorded and engineered 2 CDs for The Kelly's, a bluegrass band that plays in this area and at Silver Dollar City.
