Indianapolis, IN, USA- World's Largest Music Awards Announces 2009 Winners
Grassroots Music Organization Just Plain Folks (JPF) has announced their Winners for the 2009 edition of their music awards.
After receiving a record setting 42,000 albums and over a half million songs from 163 countries around the world, the organization's staff and team of volunteers filtered the music down to both song and album nominees in 95 genres of music. This years nominees come from over 80 different countries around the world.
DAVID E SMITH WON BEST INSTRUMENTAL ALBUM OF THE YEAR!
SPRINGFIELD MO. Nominee David E. Smith was nominated in two categories for his music. Original Bluegrass Instrumental CD: ON DOWN THE ROAD. And writer of bluegrass song COUNTY LINE DRIVE from his CD.
David Smith Songwriter / Musician
David has played in the Springfield and Branson area for over 20 years. A writer of three piano instrumental albums that have been used by Counselors and Psychologist in stress release clinics to calm patients and to help children with hyperactive disorders.
David is currently in his 14th year performing with Roy Clark touring the United States and Canada, playing keyboards and banjo. He also plays in other bands such as Justin David in Nashville TN. and The Cruize Control Band in Springfield MO.
Last year he spent 4 weeks in Uganda Africa working for a childrens organization called Watoto, learning their culture, playing music in Africa and mixing a Cd called Mamba Sawa. At home He works in his studio recording music for other artist along with his own projects.
His latest work is an all original bluegrass CD called ON DOWN THE ROAD that won best instrumental album of the year the Nashville JPF Awards.
The JPF organization spent 14 months from the initial entry date to screen all the music and narrow down the field. JPF uses a unique mix of judges that come from the music industry, fellow artist and songwriter peers and music fans.
People listen to and love music that moves them. Our awards process focuses on finding music that moves people collectively from all walks of life, from all around the world. We're just happy to share it with the world through our awards and give these creators a sincere nudge of support.
The 2009 Just Plain Folks Music Awards show took place in Nashville, TN August 29th, 2009 at the Wildh orse Saloon.
